Womens's Mental Health

Overview

Women’s mental health is shaped by biological, social, and cultural factors. Issues such as hormonal changes, gender-based violence, social expectations, and caregiving stress increase vulnerability to depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.
According to ICD-11, perinatal depression, PTSD, and anxiety are among the most prevalent mental health conditions affecting women.
At NICE SKYMED, we offer gender-sensitive counselling, trauma recovery therapy, and emotional support, empowering women to heal and regain emotional balance.

Prevalence

WHO (2023) notes that women are twice as likely as men to experience depression and anxiety.

In Bangladesh, around 18–20% of women face significant mental health challenges, especially related to domestic stress, financial dependence, and reproductive health.

Only one in three women seek formal help due to stigma and limited access to care.
